Black Bear Hunt
Package

We use tree stands over bait for these Newfoundland bear hunts. Evenings will be spent sitting over baited stands and mornings may entail a spot and stalk hunt if one chooses. Combine speckled trout fishing with this package at no extra cost. We have trout fishing with trout ranging from pan sized – 2lbs at the hunting locations. Also, fly-out Atlantic Salmon fishing available in July. These hunts will be fully guided and as accommodating as our fall hunts.

Trophy Spring Black Bear Hunts

Efford’s Hunting Adventures offers premium trophy Spring Black Bear Hunts at our North West Gander River ground accessed lodge and Sam’s Pond fly-in lodge. For the spring of 2013 we will offer 20 of these spring bear hunts at our ground lodge to enable Efford’s to produce quality bears instead of quantity. This area is new for Black Bear hunts and was first hunted 2009 spring with 2 hunters from CA, USA harvesting trophy bears at 500lbs plus and approx. 325lbs. This area has been identified by our DNR as a major problem area for bears in regards to the high population and predation they have on the local caribou herds. Bears in the 500lbs plus range are not uncommon. Newfoundland bear hunts run from last week of May until early July 2013. Also, we use spike camps at this location as we have a vast area and some stands are 25-30 miles from lodge. 

Last spring we developed and baited 35 stands in this area with all stands being hit within 2 months of baiting. With the stands in place and all being active by late summer we have great expectations for this virgin area for our upcoming 2013 hunt. Do not delay if you are looking for a trophy bruin. Min group of 4 persons required to book.

We have accommodations for 6 hunters at our main lodge and normally take 6 only if in the same party. The hunt of a lifetime is only hours away from the USA or the UK. Guests will need to arrive in Gander Newfoundland Saturday evening or Sunday mid day. We provide transportation to and from lodge from Gander.

Newfoundland Hunting Licence, Fees and Deposits

  • Government Sales Tax of 15%
  • Bear Tag $150.00
  • Deposit of 25% required to book hunts
  • Deposits and payments are non refundable yet can be deferred for later date of the same year
  • Another 25% due last march of the year of your scheduled adventure with 50% due on arrival
  • Absolutely no personal checks accepted for final payment unless they are received at the office 60 days before your scheduled adventure
  • Travel insurance is recommended
